![]() The service manual for the '06 CC Precedent says this (bolded):

![]() Correct.
My OBC has been bypassed due to a lithium installation and regen is still active. From the text above, I guess the OBC can disable regen if required. |

![]() So it sounds like pin 5 serves 2 functions: It prevents the cart from moving if it is stopped and it disables regen if the cart is moving. Or does it turn off the entire motor until the cart slows to below the regen threshold speed?

![]() It disables the motor controller. The motor controller controls both motion and regen braking.

![]() Maybe it uses LIN bus like the Visage GPS unit to disable regen on the fly.

![]() The reason I even cared enough to post the question is because I dream of being able to slow my cart with the motor like I do when going down a steep winding road with my car in low gear. When I read that the OBC controls when regen is activated I salivated at the possibility of engaging regen at will. I was pretty sure that there are only discrete inputs to my controller, so if I could just flip a switch to engage regen I would have been really happy. I've seen something online like that where there's a little box with a dial that you can increase/decrease regen at will. But at this point I'm resigned to the fact that I'll just have to live with the crappy controller I've got.

![]() In that case, I think the manual is too vague and possibly giving too much credit to the OBC. If the OBC supplies power to the controller aux in, and that is required to drive, maybe simple switching that off causes the controller to abruptly come to a stop via regen braking?
Does plugging in the charger receptacle cause the cart to brake or just coast to a stop? |

![]() I wonder if it's even worth testing. Instead of plugging in the charger, flip a switch that cuts power to pin 5 to see what happens. I'd be tickled if regen kicked in
