![]() I am going to replace my cables as part of my build (some need it others appear ok). What is the difference in 4G battery cable, 4G welding cable and regular 4G copper wire? Reason I ask is I have an abundance of 4G copper wire can use at no cost.

![]() If you can afford it, I would go for 4 gauge marine grade cable. Each wire in the bundle is pre-tinned, so you'll never have to worry about oxidation or corrosion of the internal copper wire. Here is a blog debating the pros & cons of welding vs marine. I didn't know that marine cables actually have more strands of 30AWG too.
