Default Wired voltage reducer up wrong by accident

I have 48 volt 12 volt reducer I accidentally had the two ends mixed up on the pack and play positive on negative and negative on positive. Now I don't have 12 volts I guess it's toast correct. It made a big spark. And I have nothing coming off supply at all when hooked up correctly.

Dodge, the inside of them are simple but delicate. Here is a picture of one and as you can see they will not take much surge.

transistors or caps took the hit. easy to swap those and fix it. you can order new ones from mouser. when ordering caps ( capacitors) the farad value must match but the voltage rating can be higher. the transistor just search out the numbers printed on them and order same. a solder gun and some solder wick and solder is all you need to repair them.

Ok so I got a new reducer for the second time wired it up and works fine . What is the key to having my 3gang cluster to turn off while the cart is not in use is it something Todo with the key switch or is there a rocker switch I should put in for turning off the load to the Three gang under the seat or how is this possible to do

If you are referring to the old 3-fuse assembly that mounts in front of the battery tray, that reducer you purchased is not triggered. It is a 4-wire type which is hot all the time. If you want to trigger it from the switch, you need to buy a 48v relay and have it triggered from the switch to close in and power up the reducer.

Or to make it more simple. Use a heavy duty switch and turn it on and off manually. I'm doing one right now.
