Honda Coil compatibility
Does anyone have a clue if GX670 coils would fit a GX620 engine? The reason I ask is because they cost half as much, the pictures are pretty much identical, and I doubt Honda changed the flywheel size, etc. But they do list different part #'s so maybe I'm screwed....
670 12440-SC $44 (right) 620 30500-ZJ1-023 $81.20 (right) Also, any suggestion on where to purchase? Looking at www.2lcstore.com now. |

Re: Honda Coil compatibility
The expensive one might (but I have no idea) be a CDI coil like B&S uses. I know they cost more and Honda is using them now on some engines. They advance the timing with RPM, might run better mostly rev out higher. Actually I think they call them a CDI Magneto and the old ones are just magneto. They are used on the new GX engines. http://engines.honda.com/models/model-detail/gx390

As long as your Engine SN is 1060852 or higher you use: 30500-ZJ1-845 Right 30550-ZJ1-845 Left If your SN is earlier than that, PM me the number and I'll get you the right part number. Don't pay over $45 each. |
