Default Harley Davidson 5K ***** J2

I have searched old post and see several that provide links to Manuals, Parts Guides and the like but none for the J2 serial #'s. Trying to find the parts I need to fix my Mom's cart. anyone have a link to a PDF or the like for this model? Its a 4 wheel model.

It is a 1982 HD cart just like mine. In reality the 1982 HD's were built like the later columbia cart. Some parts are made of unobtainium such as the muffler and brake cable. The primary clutch is also either expensive or not available. I have not found a manual that is exactly right for this cart BUT by using other manuals most repairs can be done.

Thanks, I am looking for a carb float but looking like a replacement carb is a better option. Cart works well all and all. Clutch seems weak at times but my main issue is that it floods all the time.

Ask and you shall receive. Attached is the manual for the 82s - 85s. Unfortunately, I have it broken down by chapter for emailing purposes.

Wow Thanks I had not been able to find the front suspension lay out for the 1982 4 wheel anywhere. The late columbia cart had shocks on the single leaf that the HD does not and the earlier HD front suspension was completely different .

Regarding the carb float, good luck finding that! You should be able to adjust the float level, though. You have to bend the tang (yes, that's the proper name for it) just a bit. The tang is the part that connects the float with the needle valve. Adjusting it determines how much fuel is in the bowl.

As well, carbs for 82-87 EZ Gos will bolt right on your cart. You just have to reroute the choke cable which is no big deal. They cost all of $20 for a China one. Yeah, the quality of the China ones isn't great but $20 is still $20.
