Nothing exciting to report today. I'm getting down to the wire and have so much to do still.

Brakes master cylinder was mounted (a bit of a hack job but should work for an event or two). I then got my brake lines run and the system bled.

I also started fabrication of a seat bracket and a roll bar mounting base. Otherwise I still need to figure out:
- throttle linkage
- break in and oil change
- cvt and jack shaft finish up
- rear axle sprocket selection
- tire selection (event is on packed dirt with a 35mph sped limit)

This thing sounds really awesome though. Loving the vtwin babble!

Comet 90 driven clutch has arrived! Fedex missed delivery yesterday and I started to worry. I now have all night to get this running before the race tomorrow...sheesh cutting it close.

Also seat brace is done. Harness bar and belts installed.

I did! And it was a blast. The cart is fast, but the idle and WOT air fuel mixture needs lots of tinkering. This carb is very hard to get right. It was running rich at idle and lean on throttle. Lots of sputtering under load and would often cutout as soon as I was off throttle.

The gearing ratio was spot on but the belt length I chose was just a bit too long for the distance between the clutches. It would bind up if I didn't just punch it.

In any case, for a quick rush job, it was a fun cart to drive. Now I have some time to get it just right before next year's race.

More wheel diameter was needed. I wanted to see how fast this would go so I upped the gearing ratio in the jackshaft to 1:4.75 and flipped the driven clutch. With 26" diameter rear tires I was able to get up to about 40mph but that was very scary. There is a horrible steering dead zone so the front end floats at speed, and I feel trapped by the seat the whole time. I either need to add a roll bar or never do that again!

I think I'll keep the gearing setup but go back down in tire diameter. The bigger rear tires look so crazy cool but the 22" tires leave enough torque to do a short wheelie on launch which is probably cooler.

I added a rear view mirror so I can see blind spots, and I have removed the wing to make room for a rear basket to carry beer...and other stuff.

Now I need to figure out how to properly tune this carb. It's terrible to work with.

Basket added. Rollbar added. Batmobile turbine added. Hoosiers added. I think I'll close the book on this build. Thanks for all the help everyone.
