Question Solenoid not engaging with Forward / Reverse switch? (Solenoid is good)

I have a 93' Medalist that I just picked up. Put 6 brand new batteries in it.

Heres where I'm getting lost and would appreciated any troubleshooting tips!

When I put the cart in forward / reverse nothing happens. Reverse bell rings so I know I have power. Key switch also works. Batteries are hooked up correctly and outputting around 37 volts. The solenoid never 'engages' when I go from neutral to forward or reverse......However - If I jump the terminals on the solenoid it properly engages and then I have full control! Reverse and Forward! Throttle works properly then as well also (slow, fast etc.)

This leads me to believe there is something going on between the forward / reverse switch leading up to the solenoid. Does anybody have any tips on common things that can out between those two parts? I even removed all connections, cleaned with wire brush and WD-40.

I know a little but not allot! Thanks!

Welcome. Go to the Stickies and download the Owners, Parts, and Service manuals. Download the wiring diagram. I'm assuming you have a handheld digital multimeter (DMM). If so, study the wiring diagram and clip one lead of your DMM on pack negative, and follow the voltage from the battery, to the reed switch (interlock), through all switches and wire spade connectors, until you lose pack voltage.

You need to place the cart on jack stands, and press the throttle to get MS-3 to close.
