Re: Proper Toe-in for a lifted cart
To be perfectly honest I'm not even sure if camber is something that can be adjusted on a golf cart. I'm sure putting a spacer on the coil springs on the front shock absorbers may correct some but I don't think carts are like automobiles that have adjustments.

Re: Proper Toe-in for a lifted cart
Thanks for the YouTube link. But honestly, I can not see how that guy could ever get a good reading within 1/8 of an inch. There is so much slop in his technique that an 1/8 of an inch seems impossible to achieve. Also I wonder what he does if the tires are like this /.../ or \...\ they could still fall in his 1/8 of an inch world, yet put you in the ditch.
I'm thinking if a person put nice straight 2x4's along each tire on the floor and measure the outside distance between them in front and back of the tire you would be better off. Also the 2x4's would visually tell you if you were running left or right. Sounds like you're right about camber, maybe there simply is no adjustment like on cars/trucks/motorhomes. You just have to hope the lift kit people know what they are doing. Back to researching more, unless someone can jump in and clarify. |

Re: Proper Toe-in for a lifted cart
100% sure lift kit companies engineer lift kits and mock them up on brand new carts with all new parts that aren't worn. They don't take into consideration any adjustments that may be needed 15 years later when parts get worn. There is another video floating around where you set toe with some string and rubber bands. Very easy and accurate but I can't locate the video since its been years ago I watched it.

Re: Proper Toe-in for a lifted cart
We got a BINGO
Clicky Looks like camber is nothing more then making sure the leaf's are centered and the positive or negative is left up to the lift maker. Which to me means not all lifts are equal when it comes to ride. Toe in and out adjustment are simple when you use the spin the tire technique. That is a much smarter way then the DIY guy's way of doing it. Thanks DB for the help!!! |

Re: Proper Toe-in for a lifted cart
The camber adjustment on the DS is BS. All you can do is make the tires move like windshield wipers so that you can center the assembly.
I had a cart like yours that had negative camber (meaning the wheels are closer together at the top than they are at the bottom) and I wanted to fix it. I modified the a-arms so I could do a proper camber adjustment by changing the lengths of each a-arm. (See the pic) I’m not suggesting that you do this, but I’m simply mentioning it because what I found was that on the DS (stock front end, I have no idea if it is true on your lifted cart) adjusting the camber has a huge impact on the toe. You may find that by playing with your toe (by rotating the tie rod) you may be able to get a setup that behaves better than what you have. TJ |

Easiest way to toe in is a shower curtain rod . extend rod in bet
ween middle of front of wheel. Tighten rod.now place rod between middle rear of wheel, there. should be 1 fourth an inch between. Rod. And. Tire Sent from my LGL41C using Tapatalk |
