You know.....I made a post on this forum a few months back about doing something similar that you have done here. And for some unknown reason my post was deleted. I was asking if anyone ever had done....or thought of simply cutting off the rear part of the leaf spring, and then....leaving the spring bolted to the axle....install a set of long-travel rear coil-over shocks.
I see you have welded hiem joints to the axle, and then "added" another hiem joint from the axle to the frame, and you're using an air shock. But what's the purpose of the "duel" hiem joint? Just "more better" stronger than just using two? |

I made those inner links with a bend in them because the air ride suspension will cause the motor (and whole axle) to rotate around as the suspension rises and lowers. If I didn't put the bends in, the motor would contact the links on full travel. I hope that made some sense? |
