1999 Yamaha G16A Motor Sputter
I recently purchased a 1999 Yamaha G16A. I have cleaned out the engine intake shroud, replaced all the fuel lines, the carburetor, battery cables/ends, solenoid, belts, fuel filter and air filter. I am not necessarily suggesting that the cart should go from 0-top speed immediately, but the issue that I am having is that when I do press on the gas, it sputters, sometimes only for a couple cranks, and sometimes for a couple minutes before it up and runs. When the motor is 'cold' this happens far less. Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Re: 1999 Yamaha G16A Motor Sputter
Does it make any difference to spray carb cleaner into intake when this happens? Also does pulling choke help at all? And last question is the new carb aftermarket or an O.E.M?

Re: 1999 Yamaha G16A Motor Sputter
It is an OEM carb and yes in the beginning (starting out) a light tug on the choke makes a difference, then further after the motor warms up, the problem gets much worse. I am thinking that I will put a compression gauge on it as well to make sure I am getting the right compression.
