Default Yet another “not charging” issue, G16

I did a Vegas Carts Big Block conversion. The cart was charging after the swap so I’m sure that has no bearing on the issue. After a couple of years, It stopped charging, so I bought a new generator/starter for it. Still not charging. Replaced the voltage regulator, still no charging. I’ve read on this site that it could be either the generator or voltage regulator, if not a wiring issue. Not running, the battery reads 12.5 volts, running 9.4 volts. I have checked and rechecked the wiring with a Yamaha schematic and the Vegas Carts instructions and can’t find any issues, including checking all connections. I guess my question is, if Im getting a reading of 9.4 volts, doesn’t that eliminate a wiring issue, since there is any reading at all? Or is the low reading after a draw of power from the battery while running?
Please bear with me, electrical problems are my weakness!
BTW, I even had the new generator checked at a rebuild shop and they said it was good.

Flip the wire location in the plug with the red & green wires. Instead of charging, its discharging. I've seen this before, trust me on this one.

Yes, with a BB the ignition is self contained so after starting you should see no discharge unless you have accessories running like lights and such, and a lot of them to hit 9v or your battery is really terrible. It appears some of the new generators are not wired correctly for yamaha.
