Thanks Ron! I have students working on block sanding all the primed body parts and I think I have picked out a color for paint. Going to buy a couple of Trojan batteries so I can start making the battery cables.

Does anyone know if this site has or where I can find a simple diagram for wiring four 12v batteries in series? I also need to know how to wire from the batteries to the shifting solenoid and to the electric motor...

Yesterday I made all of my battery cables with 2 gauge welding cable. I may go back and cut off the half inch ring terminals that I used for the battery cables and replace them with 3/8" ring terminals. I also have all the wiring ran from the shifter mechanism back up to where the push button shifter will be.

It has taken me a few emails to Scotty B with questions but his conversion kit to turn old wiper arm systems to modern electronic running gear is top notch. I do have a question that I hope you guys can answer:

To use the original charging port (pic included) can I just run wires to the positive and negative terminals that all my other connections for power will use? looking at my labeling, the red wire ran to the original solenoid and the black ran to what I labeled motor negative... I don't quite understand how that set up got the batteries charged.

And I am assuming that I can cap off and eliminate all the other factory wiring that is tied to the charging port?

Is there any wires that I should not cut off? such as the wiring running to the factory key??

Thanks in advance for any knowledge you can share with me!

I have been looking at custom motors to replace the factory yamaha 10 spline motor. From what I understand I need to be looking at series motors and can use a 10 spline club car motor as well as one for yamaha.

I'm thinking I want a combination of more torque and speeds in the low to mid twenties. The Carts Unlimited C54U conversion kit should handle a motor to meet that task. My driveway is concrete but it sits at a 10-13 degree incline, so I definitely need some extra torque.

I have been looking at Plumb Quick Motors, but is there any other companies building motors that you guys would recommend?

The new motor for my project showed up today! I went with a D&D 170-003-0002-LR. It was the biggest motor that I could find that would fit in my G2 with minimal modifications to the left rear shock mount. I should see 22-25 mph with a 20% increase in torque over the stock Hitachi. Can anyone tell me what size SAE bolts I will need to mount the D&D to my differential?

1/4-20, 2.25 inches. (only cause I stole the hell out of this from Sergio's response in your other thread..!)

LOL, thanks Wakko47!

I finally got the paint sprayed on all the plastics and the metal panels I have fabbed up over the last year! I decided to go with Lamborghini Blu Cepheous instead of a fake baby blue patina.

It's a light blue pearl tricoat that I think will look good with the black wheels and all the small bits that we have painted tuxedo black.

I spent today installing the new warmed over D&D motor and getting the right rear shock relocation finished up. The new motor is 9 and 3/16" long and would have been rubbing the Dirty Air shock so I moved the shock over a 1/4".

I want to give Carl at EV Drives a big thanks for taking the time to help me find the largest aftermarket motor that would meet the criteria I was shooting for...This cart should run in the mid 20 mph range and have 20% more torque than the stock motor.

I also finished up the 2 gauge cables for the new motor and installed the steering column for the the last time.

Vinyl came in for the seats today and I have found someone that can add some foam to the butt seat to create a small bolster to keep me from sliding around like I have with other flat seated carts...She is also going to mimic the pleats that the factory seats have and add some black piping for accent.

Just need to finish up the wiring on the dash panel, install all the body panels, and get them color sanded and buffed to a glass like finish. Hope to have it done for my XMAS present to myself!
