Default How to know if your rear end has a large or small bearing for high speed gears

I think I want 8:1 gears in my vtwin cart. I have no idea what year the rear end is. Is there anyway to tell from the outside of the diff what bearing it has?

Nope this one is out of an EZGO. I'm fairly certain the tag on the rear end indicates a 97 but my luck it wouldn't mean that at all.

I have the same question. I have the bearings pulled just waiting to hear where to measure the ring gear? What size is your motor and why did you settle on 8's?

I have 24 hp but I am 90 percent road and 10 percent pulling stuff.

Got an answer...

Here is a picture where to measure and what the size is for an ezgo. The 1.378 is for the 1998 and up bearing size and the 1.1.575 is for the older than 1998 bearing. Here is a picture of what and where to measure. This should solve it all.
