Default Need an opinion

Guys I need your opinion. I have new Trojan Batteries. I just installed an Alltrax DCX400PDS controller and HS Solenoid today.
Much snappier off the line but no gain in top speed and will not pull a hill. I can walk next to it on about a 20% incline. One weird thing it does is it will do a burn out in reverse, on grass, but wont in forward. I thought maybe the diode was on backwards putting it in half throttle but that was not it. I do not have 1/2 throttle reverse on so it should not be an issue with my F1 and F2 connections. It would not pull a hill before and that was the main reason I wanted to replace the controller.
I spoke with the guys at Alltrax, they were great by the way, and they think my motor is giving up.
It is a 2001 TXT PDS cart with the original motor. What do you guys think?
Thanks,
Mike

Just to add. Batteries are 38.7 at rest. Each battery is 6.7 at rest.
Going up the 20 degree hill voltage goes to 34.2.

I'd say at least one bad battery

The guys at Alltrax might be right. Sick motor.
What high current cables do you have? Are any getting hot?

Your battery voltage numbers don't add up right. 6 X 6.7 = 40.2V

What is the Max Output Current and Top Speed sliders set to?
Is the Turbo box checked?

How tall are the tires?

---------
The voltage dropping to 34.2V means you are drawing a lot of current or a bad battery or a lot of resistance in the high current cables and connections.

-------
When I installed a DCX400PDS in a cart that was stock except for 2Ga cables, the speed went to 24 MPH with a 36V set of T-105 batteries that weren't in all that good of shape.
Attached is the original settings on that controller.

The Alltrax tech support team is pretty darn good at what they do - a 4v drop under load is okay. I assume you increased solenoid capacity when you upgraded the control and you have good cables, which like Johnnie says are not getting hot at any end?

Thanks for the responses guys. 4ga on the pack and 2ga going to the motor, i believe, they are big. However I believe the cables from the battery pack to the solenoid are still 6ga, at least they are bit smaller then the 4ga cables I have on the pack. The cables from the pack to the solenoid do get slightly warm but not hot by any means.
I did not think about that. The math does not make sense.....hum.
Max output and top speed sliders are at max. Turbo off.
20" Trail Wolfs.
Scotty - yeah went to a 200a 800peak solenoid.

No Turbo will give you the best low & mid range torque but limits speed about 4-5 mph . HPD is a recommended safety feature. This feature will not let the controller come on when it senses the go pedal is depressed.

OK I will turn HPD back on. I was not sure what that was. I had Turbo on first and ran it and then talked with the guys at Alltrax and they said it would help torque and they wanted to see if it would climb better. But it didn't climb any better. I just left it off.

See if your buddy can lay his hands on a test motor.
