Default 1988 EZGO Oil Pump question.

We bought a 1988 2 cycle EZGO last summer. By the end of August the motor went. I recently bought a complete rebuild kit and I just finished rebuilding the motor. When I opened up the motor it looked like scorched earth and the cylinder wall was scratched to hell. That got me thinking that the oil pump might not have been working. So I guess I have two main questions.

1. Where can I find a replacement oil pump? Can’t seem to locate one online.

2. Can I just simply premix the fuel? If I do what would happen?......Carb jets fail?, fouled plug?, fuel filter blockage?
Any help is appreciated.

I have just removed the pumps before and premixed the fuel.
I mix it at 80-1 but I think it calls for 125-1
125-1 seems a little high to me so I run a little more oil
Doing this on my sister in laws cart after a rebuild we have not had any problems.

No problems with the fuel filter or carb? How did you cut off the oil pump? Sorry for being a pain. I just spent $380 rebuilding this engine and I really don't want to blow it, literally.

No problems on the intake manifold their should be a banjo fitting like a brake line fitting that the oil hose feeds to.
You need to seal this hole off so it does not suck air thru it
I think I used a a plain bolt with some epoxy to seal it
I left on the oil pump so that the throttle cables would work as factory.
No problem any question is a good question.

Yes there is banjo type fitting. I took it off when I tore the engine apart. It's currently back in it spot. :) I live in a very hilly area. What mixture should I use and how many gallons is the gas tank?

I suggest 50-1. This is the same as boat motors manufactured in 1988. I have a G1 2 cycle which sees about 100 miles every weekend! The kids use it at a campground that has 2000 sites on 6 sqare miles. Very hilly area on lake Gaston.

First tank full should be 40;1 after a rebuild.

After that manufacturer says 128;1. That's 1 ounce of oil per gallon. Some guys run 100:1 to feel good because they know better than the manufacturer.

The oil injector was an option. It did not come standard. Most everybody removes them because they are known to fail. My 87 did not come from the factory with oil injection.

Plug your banjo hole with a 6mm screw.
