Orange County Resource for battery help
Hi all-
I am a rookie Youtube educated cart tech and my batteries won’t charge. I think I have them all plugged in right and I had to install a new charger receptacle, but it will not charge. It has a little juice in it and runs fine, but I have replaced the charger and can’t figure out what’s up. |

Re: Orange County Resource for battery help
Hi JonnieB
It is a 2001 Ezgo TXT 36v The batteries are Trojan (6) The charger is a PowerWise III I changed the charger receptacle. I think I have it right where the red goes to the positive of the very first battery, and the black goes to the negative to the last battery. But like I said, this is a new venture for me and I am a hack Youtube tech at this point. |

If the charger is not charging, don't run it any more until you get it figured out.

Re: Orange County Resource for battery help
Could it be the batteries are so low that the charger will not kick on?

Lead-acid Deep-cycle Cart batteries need to be charged before first use and after each use, and should never be discharged more than 50%. Got to this website: https://www.cartsunlimited.net/battery-break-in-.html After reading how to break in new batteries, click on FAQs on the menu at the left side of homepage and read everything with the word battery in its title. ------------------ If the battery pack voltage is less than about 30V, your charger will not turn on. If so, you can use a 12V charger and charge the 6V batteries in pairs to get them up high enough to turn on the 36V charger. |
