Default brand new batteries... Charge???

I have a set of 6 8v batteries that ave been sitting on a pallet for over three weeks now. The date stamped on them shows they were made in May. I should have the rest of my cables in before the end of next week. Should i charge the batteries before i try and test it all out or will the batteries be good for a few rounds in the yard to test this new motor out?

Charge those batteries ASAP.

New batteries need to be fully charged prior to furst use and then broken in properly to obtain maximum storage capacity.

Here is how to break them in. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Batter...n_Methods.html

While on the site, read everything with the word "Battery" in title. Probably $ave you some headaches down the road.
