Anybody upgraded their EZ GO to 48 volts?
I bought a new EZGO hunting cart that has 36 volts currently and I am upgrading it to 48 with a new controller and motor. Curious about anybody who has done this, what battery combination did you use, run time versus the 36 and torque improvements, and what battery combination you used and how did it work out. I understand that if I use 8 6v batteries I will have to put two in the back and I would rather not do that if possible.

You can also do 6 8volt batteries. When you start adding amps you may need to upgrade to larger cables and other items also.

Re: Anybody upgraded their EZ GO to 48 volts?
I've also converted mine. I went with the 8 6v system. I didn't use the bag well anyway since I have the rear flip flop seat. It does add lots more weight on the very back, but I'm okay with that as long as there are heavy duty springs back there. I love the way mine runs now. It's just a little squirrelly at the higher speeds on the road, but that also has a good bit to do with the kind of tires I'm running. Not much rubber meeting the road. It handles great on dirt, gravel, grass, etc.

Re: Anybody upgraded their EZ GO to 48 volts?
Can someone post up some photos of how they got 8 batteries under the seat on a TXT series cart? I am looking at going 48v and would like to go with 6v over 8v and keep my bag well.
Thanks, Scott |

Re: Anybody upgraded their EZ GO to 48 volts?
I am in the process of building mine now. I am doing it... over doing it, so it may be a little more work than you are interested in seeing. I welded a plate on the controller side and added all thread tie downs on both. Turning out great... I think. Just a little sneak peak into my build... I wanted to wait for a "grand unveiling" but hard to wait to show.
