Default Charging batteries with a 12v charger

Hi guys, I have a 2003 ez go 36v golf cart and we haven't used the cart for the last year or so. When I tried to charge the batteries they didn't charge because the voltage was to low for the charger to kick in.

So my question is, how can I charge the batteries with a regular car charger so I get enough voltage to use the cart charger?

Do just need to connect 2 batteries at the same time to make 1 12v batteries?
If this is the way to do it, do I just connect the 2 batteries by connecting a positive to one negative and same thing with the other side?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

The batteries are already connected pos to neg. so just connect the 12v charger to any pair... no need to disconnect or rearrange any cables.

Thanks for the quick reply, so I guess the only thing I need to do is connect the charger to a pair like you said but disconnect the rest of them from the pair that's going to be charge , right?
