No click in the solenoid
I have a 1989 ez go textron (gas). I am getting no response when I press the gas pedal. No click in the solenoid but lights and back up beep work. I've checked pedal, forward and reverse switches and they all are connected and seem to be clicking fine. It does crank when I jump the solenoid tho. I've replaced the battery and solenoid and looked for any bad wires too. Please help

Re: Need help!
You need to check it with a meter it should have continuity while the settle is pressed

Re: Need help!
.8 what?
You need to check for continuity as previously stated. power comes from a fuse under the plastic cover by the battery then up to the F/R switches, so if you have reverse beep then the fuse is good. the next place power goes to is the pedal switch, then follows through to the ignition switch which then feeds the rest of the start system. the usual culprit is the pedal switch, so if you do not know how to test continuity just pull the wires off the switch and connect the two wires together, then turn the ignition on, the starter should then spin. If so, change the switch. this way you don't need your meter. And for your information, the lights are usually on a separately switched circuit in the ignition switch with a separate feed and not relevant to your issue. |

Re: No click in the solenoid
This is your wiring diagram. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...3pg-carts.html
You have two microswitches connected in series. They are the pedal switch, and the neutral safety switch. One is down low, and exposed to the elements. The other is located on the passenger side of the FnR switch. Jump them both. You should also be checking the ground connection at the small terminal of your solenoid. |
