Default 2004 Precedent Brake light stays on for 30 seconds

I have a 2004 Precedent that when I use it the battery light will stay on for about 30 seconds after I stop the cart. The lamp otherwise does not come on while in use.

My batteries are 2 years old and are US Battery label.

I've read other posts and will soon get a hydrometer from Napa and a voltmeter from either Sears or Radio Shack.

I'll be back to make sure I don't jack anything up and thanks in advance for any help.

Look at the tag on the OBC and see what version it is... If it's v2.05 you've found your problem. These things are absolute junk. Put a 3.0 on it and that will solve your problem, if your batteries are good that is.

Thanks Dawg.

Not sure where the OBC is but it sounds like it is between the batteries?

Yes... it's under the cover between the batteries. It's the forward-most component, located directly underneath the Tow/Run switch. It will have a pink tag on it. You'll have to look closely because the writing is small, and upside down, but it's there.

No kidding about the label.

All I could read was OBC - did catch the part number which was 24285-02.

Hope that helps.

Otherwise I'll have to enlist a younger set of eyes to read it.

Thanks for your help.

Got it.

Stuck a digital camera down there and finally can read it.

It's version 2.05.

I haven't check my batteries yet but will try today.

Once I get a voltmeter can you step me through on how to use it?

Again I appreciate your help.

The 2.05 doesn't charge the batteries properly. This could very well be the reason you're getting a battery light. Go ahead and check the batteries, but just keep in mind that they're not "fully" charged.

Got the batteries checked.

They are:

Battery

1. 1225 1250 1250 1270 1270 1270

2. 1260 1260 1260 1275 1300 1275

3. 1270 1275 1270 1240 1270 1250

4. 1260 1260 1275 1250 1260 1250

These are rows 1 and 2 are the front rows of the battery as you're looking towards the rear of the cart.

As far as a OBC 3.0 where's the most economical place to get one if I may ask?

Thanks for all your help Dawg - it's greatly appreciated.
