Default Trouble shooting 96 txt no go

Hello all. I’m trying to help my dad with his 96 txt gas. He has nothing when turning the key and pressing the gas pedal. I tried some basic troubleshooting but need more specifics. There is continuity through the keyed switch. There is also continuity through the micro switch on the gas pedal. The main solenoid seems to be passing voltage with voltage applied to the trigger, but I don’t hear the “click” of it working. If I use jumper cables to the starter/generator it does spin and turn the engine over. There were a few wires that were in the main loom that were corroded and broken, I think they tied together. It was a fused black wire from the solenoid and I believe 2red wires. One of those wires seems to go to the reverse tone box deal, I can’t remember where the other went.

A wiring diagram and a way to test each individual device would be great.

Thanks for any help.

If you have power at the I believe it’s blue or green wire on the solenoid when key on and gas pedal depressed and not getting power on the out (starter) side of solenoid then your solenoid is bad.

It should click.

There are two tiny terminals on bottom of solenoid. One has only one wire going to it and it is black.

Take a jumper wire and touch that terminal and other end to negative side of battery.

If it don't click after you push pend and what you said about having power to the blue wire then yes the solenoid is bad.
