What I was told is that it is pretty much plug and play, just have to modify that one connection that I showed in the picture. Is that not the case? They say they do tons of these.

Some of the pins used on the 1264 are not used on the 1268 but may provide power so may be okay. The biggest thing I saw was that the power to the solenoid activation circuit comes from the run tow switch. If yours has power it might be okay as is.
