Default G1 gas gauge

The gas gauge on my cart got melted somehow. I don't know if i overfilled it or just spilled some fuel on it. I'm not really that worried about how it happened, I just need to know where to get another one. Will a gas gauge from another cart work on it or does it have to be for a g1. If so "anybody have a junk g1 they wanna sell the gas gauge off of?"

thanks

You can get a new OEM gas gauge for around $20 if you want to stay original.
If you are not in a big hurry, I can get you one,
Thanks,
Raz

Thanks anyway Raz. I'm doin' some price comparisons on electric gauges right now, which has been pretty simple since jc whitney's got the only one I can find. I'll let ya'll know what I come up with.

I see that gauge requires a 2 1/8 hole, if you drill the tank use a pilot bit to keep the hole saw from wallowing the hole too big. A dozen donuts and a stop at "local' parts store during a slow time will let you look at it and decide about drilling. Good luck.

I thought the 2 1/8" hole was for the gauge and not the sender. I was plannin on stickin the sender in the same hole the old gauge was in on the tank. It may take some silicon to seal it off, but I think it will work fine.

Ordered a gauge and sender kit from my local O'Reilly's for less than 19 bucks. Should have it by Thursday or Friday. Might try to get it installed this weekend if I get time.
