Default 81 marathon 244 carb inlet problem

Noticed the carburetor was leaking fuel. This inlet nozzle keeps slipping off. I don't know how to keep it from falling off. I have considered using sealant but can't find any that are gasoline friendly. Is there a trick to keeping this thing on? I can see that it has little teeth in it but I cannot keep it on. I had this issue with a previous carburetor and never did figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Does the inlet tube unscrew from the carb? If so you may be able to put a longer barbed inlet in and get more bite on it with the clamp. I also am wondering if you could put a carb off a lets say 86 244cc with an upright inlet? Just a though, other than that I would put a tighter hose on and try my best to get that clamp to tighten.

You are also missing the pilot screw. Look at pages j-7, and j-8 of this manual.

New carbs $18 on ebay.
