Default DDead short

I own an 88 EZGO gas/electric and it totally quit running.Appears to have a large draw on the battery.Changed the soleniod,it chatters when I try to start it but nothing else happens. I have changed the power cables, serviced the starter/generator with new brushes and cleaned it out. The fuse is okay.Any suggestions?

Check the battery for a short? With a hydrometer or loadtester.......Cables good?

Changed battery out. I have three to rotate with but same results. Same chatter and what seems like a large current draw. I also checked my forward/reverse contact switch and cleaned the contacts.

Do you have another solenoid you can try?

As I stated before, when I attempt to start it, I turn on the key and depress the pedal. The original solenoid didn't chatter as much as the new one that I have installed. I am assuming that the new one is good....but I could be wrong.

A chattering solenoid is a low voltage indicator? You got me?

yes, i have had a cable with crimped ends get corroded inside the connector, i would hold the pedal down and start wiggling the ground and power cables. or add a known good cable to the system. make sure the engine has a ground to the frame!
