Unhappy Performance issues on 2017 Drive R EFI

My cart has become very sluggish. Cart is 1 1/2 yr. old and was good when new. Dealer does not know what is wrong. They ordered a throttle cable but I am VERY skeptical .

If I move the accelerator very very slow and gradual I can get the engine to full throttle or very close to it and the speed is back where it should be. But this takes a long time and distance. If I put the accelerator down fast the cart seems to labor badly and will not allow the engine to go to full throttle. It has even held me below 15 mph when doing this.

I am starting to look elsewhere for the problem. Maybe the clutches????
Is it possible a clutch is sticking and not operating properly and keeping the engine down.

Is there lubrication to the clutches as I have not lubricated them if there is.

Cart has 250 hrs. on it. AZ cart with high speed gears.

I'm assuming it was fine with the HS gears before.

If you put it in neutral and rev the engine, can you watch the clutches to make sure they engage and disengage smoothly and completely?

Just throwing it out there, have they checked fuel pressure? I had a 2016 Honda Foreman 500 (fuel injected) that was behaving very similarly. Normally I would have just cleaned the carb, but since it was FI there's nothing to clean... After scratching my head and taking a couple beer breaks, fuel pressure was low. Replaced the fuel pump and it ran like a champ.

Cart was fine when new. Fuel pump is in the fuel tank I assume. How about the fuel filter location?

Will check the clutch operation as you suggested and get back to you.

Thx.

Clutches seem to be working as they are supposed to. Engine comes up to speed without any hesitation. So it seems all is good as long as there is no load on the cart.

Guessing I need to look at fuel system or the EFI.

Appreciate all and any help.

LOL, desert cobbles together these Drive R things (Yamaha makes no such model, it's just a desert sticker), and they can't even fix them? Time to stop buying from them and find a new dealer.

Not very experienced with carts, but I do know some stuff. I would look at fuel filter first and fuel pump second.

Yep, you are right on the first part. The fuel pump is in the tank, and there is nothing you can do to it. The only filter is the "sock" on the bottom of the pump.

have fuel injector cleaned and flow tested, poor fuel spray from injector will cause this problem.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!

Yamaha inserted baffles in the exhaust system to help with the "QUIETECH".

Those baffles had come loose and were loose in the exhaust chamber and plugged the outlet. Removed the **** things and cart has never run so good and strong. Will be contacting Yamaha about this serious problem.

C'mon Yami, you can do better.
