i plan on welding a sproket on the spline in which the electric motor on my cart connects to. does anyone know if it sticks out of the metal housing? or will i need to fabricate some extension ? any adbvice or pictures would help alot. thanks

i would think that you would be better off to cut the coupling off the motor and weld the sprocket to that.

im wanting to avoid the clutch by connecting a sproket to the 19 spline that sticks out and connecting it with a chain to sproket which is mounted on the engine shaft .. this would work as far as making it run but im not sure how it would idle or if it would at all

i think you are barking up the wrong tree with the idea the motor wont idle nor will it have the torque to get the cart rolling

I hate to say it but, this might work with a motorcycle type engine, clutch, & tranny.....But, it seems at that point you would be better off with a live axle.
