new 48volt charger for club car with obc
I need to replace my charger, I have a 2002 48 volt club car DS with the obc, what chargers are on the market that will work with this? I don't want to disable the obc, just buy a new charger. thanks

I've got the stock powerdrive III that came with my 2012 precedent. I removed my OBC and bought a smart charger. I have it in the for sale section.

Yup that's it. Not sure if it will work on your particular cart, I'm sure someone will chime in.

An original Powerdrive, a PD2, and PD3 will all work on your cart with an OBC.

Keep in mind the OBC is the OEM charger brains, so any external power supply only box would work.
If you are considering buying a new charger, make sure you also price the smart Chargers that don't need an OBC to work like the Lester Summit II. |

Re: new 48volt charger for club car with obc
What’s wrong with your charger? Unless it was dropped off the roof of a 10 story building or run over by a freight train, the old box chargers almost never die. Most of the internal parts can be replaced for much less than buying a new charger.
It’s also much more common for the OBC to fail than for the charger to fail. |
