I have a early 90's ezgo controller cart,I have 37.3 volts on batteries, runs great on Jack stands, but when I remove from stands, goes for short while(5-7 foot)then cuts off,let the gas pedal up,push pedal down another 5-7 ft,same in reverse....help me?

Re: Early 90's ezgo controller?
Clip test leads to motor controller terminals B+ & B-. Repeat test. If voltage falls drastically, move test lead from B+ to other side of solenoid (the battery pack side, not controller side).

Re: Early 90's ezgo controller?
Sounds like the precharge resistor allowed the controller to store enough juice to jump just a few feet. It's a puzzle how the solenoid clicked if the key switch was bad, but hey, it works.
You now have a spare controller and solenoid, which you can just keep or sell. |

Re: Early 90's ezgo controller?
Is this the resistor that should be on the solenoid? This cart does not have one...
