Custom Electric Cart 48 Volt Project UTV
This project needs very little to be complete. I would say that the really hard work is done. It is a bit larger than a standard golf cart.
All fabrication has been done professionally. Only quality parts have been used throughout. It began with an aluminum frame, sourced as surplus. The frame was designed for a Ford Think Neighbor NEV (Neighborhood Electric Vehicle). The frame does not have a VIN. The main frame rails are 2” x 4” rectangular aluminum tubing. All brackets, sub-assemblies and other attachments are professionally welded or installed using nut-serts. The suspension is four wheel independent. The front employs a double wishbone design with a rack and pinion steering. The rear suspension is a trailing arm type. Both front and rear employ coil over shock absorbers. The electric propulsion is provided by a 48 volt custom wound motor designed to drive the fully loaded vehicle to 30 mph. The motor’s power is estimated at 15 horsepower. The controller is a 48 volt, 400 amp Alltrax with a custom made forward-reverse controller utilizing 480 amp, 48 volt solenoids. During testing, the vehicle reached a speed of 28 MPH on GPS. The tires are GENERAL Grabber AT2 27X8.50R14LT with aluminum wheels. These were purchased new approximately two years ago and (as shown in the pictures) have no miles on them. The seats were purchased directly from PRP and are suspension seats with removable head rests. They are black tweed with black vinyl sides and back. The windshield frame and cage is all TIG welded steel tubing. I have included pictures showing the quality of the workmanship. The body is a custom manufactured hand-laid fiberglass two piece unit. The seat pedestal/ battery compartment is steel (very minor surface rust as shown) with an aluminum seat mounting area. The floor board area has not been done, I had intended to use steel for this as well. The windscreen is 1/8”Lexan. The steering wheel is mounted with a quick release. The dash has not been fabricated. It would simply be a flat piece of material (metal, wood or plastic) to hold the switches, indicators and anything else you wish to dash mount. The brakes are drum on all four wheels. All of the major components are installed, however the rod between the pedal and master cylinder will need to be replaced. The front and rear lights are standard items sourced from truck lighting manufacturers and are readily available. The lighting wiring has not been installed. There is a 48 volt charger sourced used mounted under the front hood. This charger is untested, I don’t know if it works. No batteries are included in this sale. There is room for six 8 volt batteries or eight 6 volt batteries. I would also consider trading for a truck, box truck, full size van or other vehicle, let me know what you have. Asking $4300. I'm located in Southern California. I have it listed as a classified ad on ebay right now with 23 pictures. Search for item #271202762491. |

Re: Custom Electric Cart 48 Volt Project UTV
Here are some pictures. Also I've reduced the price to $3800. And I'm interested in trades.
