Not a Yamaha but this was one of the most fun carts I’ve built. Even though it had a fist sized hole in the back of the motor :). (Note, it looked worse than this when I brought it home... this was after I cleaned it up) |

Same cart, but after it was finished. With enough time and effort even the worst of carts can end up great

To get started, make a list of everything that is missing and start pricing out those items. Even the simple stuff is expensive unless you can find a donor. You might be better off finding another cheap cart to get parts off of. I have two of this type of Yamaha cart and I really like them. I recently bought the second one and I am collecting stuff to make it real nice. I have in boxes, new Alltrax controller, D&D motor, new Brake parts, and Lithium batteries from Nissan Leaf. I got my cart complete with new batteries and a dead motor for 2K. I will sell the new batteries as soon as I make the swap to Lithium. I fixed the dead motor with new brushes so the cart is running. I'm waiting until I have everything before I tear it all apart to do the brakes etc. I will try to take a bunch of before and after pix. I hope to do the build next month.

its going to be a slow, careful build.
First I will dismantle it more and fix the crossbar issue. If that goes well, I will clean up the frame, spray it and then check brakes/tranny. If that goes well, then I will price out everything I need before I move forward. thanks guys! |

Re: 2009 G29 - From the Ground Up! (pics included) Assistance Very Much Needed!
UPDATE - 5/16/21
After the FULL month of April in the hospital with covid (yeah, I got hit HARD) then getting out and 4 days later going back in for a week with blood clots, 2 emergency surgeries (all related to covid) I am finally on the mend and back at it. All the parts are ordered. Some have arrived and some are arriving in the next few days. Got the Riot kit from Don, then from other venders the havoc body kit, street legal lighting, new steering wheel, carbon fiber dash and the list goes on. One thing I have not been able to find is full replacement front seats. If you look at the original pics, there is no bottom seat and the back rest is a mess. I need both. Even something aftermarket that can be recovered. anyone have any ideas? I understand this is not the FS/WTB page but I need help locating these parts. Seems these are the last of what I need before the rebuild starts this week. PICS COMING!!!! |

Took it down to the frame, removed surface rust and prepped it for sealing.
Tomorrow or gets several thin coats of Por-15. |

Just curious, what color is this cart going to be? If by chance, it will be red using the stock stone color top, I have a new set of Suite Seats that would be perfect, ordered incorrectly, still in the box. Picture of seat back for reference, bottom is a match. PM me if interested. Also, where are you located? Light color would match top color.

Nice work on the rebuild. Here is the best product to restore the plastic trim everywhere on the cart, including the floormat if not being replaced. Is not slippery. Makes trim look like new. May need a recoat after 6-9 months or so if trim was really bad, but maybe every year or so after that. Picture of before and after on Precedent. That's one coat. I get the 2" wide corner paint sponge applicators from Ace rather than the large sponge supplied. Be careful over driveway or garage floor, use a drop cloth. Wipe up quickly with damp rag. It runs right thru sponge until 5 minutes or so into the application.
