Default 1990 G8 Lead Acid to Lithium

I’m converting batteries and I removed the old onboard charger and replaced with new charger. I just cut the red wires from old charging port and coiled them up in battery compartment. Now I have no power coming out of the motor side of the selenoid. Does one of the old charging wires go the the controller and tell the controller that it is charging and not send power to the motor. If so how do I fix that?
