2001 EZGO Key in off position cart will go forward when pedal pressed
I have a 2001 EZGO Model #M301 and 48v. When the key is in the off position, the selector is in F, and press the pedal, the cart goes forward. Same in R position it goes backwards. In N position and perdal press cart does not move. Turn the key on, and the battery meter lights up, and turn the key to third position lights come on. I checked the keyswitch and it is closed between poles when tested in off position. I replaced the solenoid and still have the same issue. What else can it be and how to check it.

Sounds like your key switch has failed. To make sure that is the case I would check it with all wires off the switch to be certain.

The key switch is okay. If i have key switch off then I turn the tow/kill switch on and off then the cart will not go we key switch in off position. As soon as I turn key on the cart will go. Turn key switch back off cart will still go when pedal pressed. I am not sure what the issue is.

I would get a wiring schematic and start tracing every wire and verifying proper location.

If it is a 2001 with a run/tow switch and 48v it is definitely not stock. What controller is in it?

The controller is a 51-FX503G026. To also add what I just did today. If key is in on position and I am going forward by pressing pedal. I can switch key to off position and motor disengages. I take foot off pedal and come to complete stop, then press pedal again motor engages and goes forward.

Did you check key-switch for correct wireing? Correct wires on correct terminals on switch?

Yes I have checked the wires on the key switch. Can I test by removing all wire from key switch?
