Re: liner actuator to swich from f to r
interesting idea .. never seen one used ... you would need to measure your own f/r switch and adapt it .. do you know where you will mount it and how you will power it ? also where would mount the actuator switch ?

Re: liner actuator to swich from f to r
i am moding a clubcar vilager 6 to a gas cart as the cart sits now its a bare frame as i have to replace the front 4 feet of the frame about a foot behind the dash have a used freame to take the parts off with a bent rear end the cart will be 5 speed so i was thinking about puting the swich rich in the shifter knob or on the shifter shaft or mouned in the dash as for mounting the acuator i could mave to make someing so it was mounted right to the axle houseing so it moved witht the axle as for power oi will have 2 12v volt deep cycles onbored both crargeing off the motor
sorry for the long post Last edited by rich4240; 08-21-2013 at 10:40 PM.. Reason: forgot power |

Re: liner actuator to swich from f to r
the one im looking at right now is a 4"stroke that tekes 2 secons to fulley exted or retract so in therry if your one had is aredy with in a ince or tow of the button it should be faster to fhift

yes 5 speed manule transmission still desiding ware to put it ether use my sparte brake peddle or do like shifter go karts are right on the stering wheel or right on the shifter shaft so you grab the cluch and shift wht the same hand

Re: liner actuator to swich from f to r
Low buck I thought of using a couple of lock actuators out of old 70s cars (or maybe something more common like older model ford truck) if you can get them, or even some of the choke actuators from smaller outboards. Put them on a lever to increase travel if you need to, they are instant, not sure how many one would need to make enough power. Could also use an electric motor with a lever on it, momentary switch. The linear ones are pretty slow, at least the ones I saw used on boats were. Car parts are common you can boneyard for them cheap so no big loss if they don't work, and power locks are fast.
