Pulse fuel pumps
I've got a question on the pulse actuation part of these pumps. Can you use the intake manifold vacuum for the pulse, or do you need the push from the crank case pressure to operate the pump? I think the pulse from the intake manifold would be stronger, but the pump may require a push instead of a pull.
What's your feelings on this? I don't have a pump here to try or I'd do some experimenting! |

I used the carb spacer for the pulse line on a 16 hp clone, works well. The intake pulse is cleaner too.

That's good news! The pump will work with either a pull or push.

Seems like the pulse would have to be both a push & a pull anyway..... hence the reason they call it a pulse?
No oil coming out from the carb spacer either. |

I haven't gotten one to experiment on yet, but I would " assume " there would be a spring to push the diaphragm one direction and the pulse either pushes or pulls it in the other. I'm going to get one of these from the junkyard and I'll post up what I find when it gets dissected!
