Default Wheel Hubs Stripped

I have a 36 volt EZGO TXT that keeps wearing out the rear wheel hubs. I have had to replace both wheel hubs twice in the last 4 months. The last time I replaced the hubs and splines and they wore out again within a month. Any ideas??

Put anti-seize compound on the axle splines and >
Torque the castle nut to 100-120 ft pounds.

Try the 2 piece hubs, they seem to be better metal. https://www.ebay.com/itm/33318172778...mis&media=COPY

An important factor in replacing those hubs is to tighten the castle nut super tight. I have seen more than one person tighten them , then back off to get the cotter key in. Don't do that. Even if you have to get a cheater bar to get it done, TIGHTEN the castle nut to the next notch where the cotter will go in. Never back off. The lost motion between the hub and axle will constantly wear the splines.

Like scottyb said. Tighten to 100 ft lb first then tighten to the next slot in the castle nut. That should put you safely between the 100-120 ft lb that he recommended.

Thank you everyone. I have definitely backed off on the nut to allow for the cotter pin.
