Default Secondary clutch not going in properly

Yamaha G2 , got new primary clutch and secondary clutch, secondary is a heavy spring (red) . Both worked great after install, ran for 4 to 5 weeks, now secondary clutch doesen"t open up all the way, its not clocked at the right position. ( not riding on the plastic dogs). What Have I done wrong ? anyone ?

Is this a Yamaha clutch or aftermarket? Often times the aftermarket parts aren't made with high quality aluminum and are prone to breakage. Also not a fan of the the big red springs, they can also cause damage. When you installed the clutch did you remove the clip on the input shaft and use a spacer?

Run from that heavy red spring! Remove it and put in the old one. You will be much happier. I had my clutch on and of about 5 times dealing with the red spring. You can still order some black thinner springs from Ebay or other places. Much better in my opinion.

do I need to replace the whole clutch? this one dosent have the hole to insert the black spring. Also the clutch worked great for a 3week period, but we put a lift kit on and then a couple days later is when we noticed the clutch not riding against the plastic wear guards. motor sounds like its running in a low gear.

Ahh yours does not have the clocking holes mine did. I actually put in a lighter spring gold/tan colored that did not have clocking pegs. Seems to work well.
