Default Wanted, dead Curtis 1204 controller

Anyone have a non working Curtis 1204 Controller they would be willing to part with? Be happy to pay shipping and reasonable price.

Spent my life fixing electronic things añd am wondering what it really takes to rebuild a Curtis Controller. Need a dead one to expirement on. Send PM with what you have and what it might take to get it.
Thanks

I hope you can fine one. I can tell you that I have what I believe is a dead 1204-001 and just ordered a new one from ProgRama out of Boca Raton, FL. I have to send mine back for $100. core charge. Just giving you some information on dead cores.

Wow! Didn't know they were charging that much for the core. Guessing most problems are fairly easy to fix as long as the logic stuff works, doubt Curtis gives out much info on the brains.

That price is what rebuilders do in order to motivate a customer into sending it back. What they pay for usable cores is actually a fraction of the return core charge. I am sure that there are some specialty controllers that a place like FSIP might be willing to pay $100 for the core, but on an early standard Curtis controller it would probably be about $5 or $10 depending on how many they have in stock.

Some they won't buy at all.

Thanks for the info, would be nice to have 3 or 4 to play with. $20 - 25.00 plus shipping figuring you will get some that can't be repaired sounds pretty reasonable to me. Understand about the core charge it isn't really there money, they are refunding money that was given to them.

Gives me an idea if I get this figured out. Send me your dead controller, of I can fix it you send me $120.00, and I will send it back, if I can't I will send you $20.00 for what parts I might be able to salvage. Chance to get your controller repaired for 1/2 of what the rebuilders are charging. Just a thought, really do not need a job but do like challenge's.

I'm in the process of opening up my 1204 controller to try and repair it. Please start a thread if you are doing any reparations so we can share info :)

I got sidetracked with dealing with the VA. So far I have only repaired one, it had an issue with the logic board and a couple shorted mosfets. I was lucky to have another controller I was able to rob the mosfets from. Curtis uses a mosfet made out of unobtainaum and if you don't have the exact one you will have to replace all of them to make sure they all match.
