Update. After being assured by Jake's [or whoever the **#% owns them now,] I was assured that the original bushings were defective and new ones would solve the issue. Year and a bit later, same $#it. So I decided fix it right. Bought a length of 932 bronze and made my own. My arms ID is .877 inches average so off the shelf bushings were out of the question to get a proper press fit. The sleeve the bolt passes through is .5015 so that needed a skim cut and polish as I don't have a .503 reamer. I was also able to easily increase the upper arms bearing area to a full 1 1/4" as there was room in the arm to do so.

Finished the 12 new bushings yesterday. Whoa! What a difference. I fully recommend this fix/improvement for anyone who wants improved steering and handling from their buggy.

What were the original bushings made of? I have a sgc lift and it has rubber bushings on the upper a arms. This cart is a handful to drive straight as the uppers basically float. I was just thinking about making bronze or delron bushings myself.

Hey thanks for the replies. Factory bushings were made of rubber which more approximates a black marshmallow after a year. [Probably made in f@#$ing china.] It would be really hard to market these even if I had the time. See, the A arms are just made from thin wall tubing and welded together, so due to shrinkage and a bit of warpage from the welding, are not all the same internal diameter so i made each bushing to size. Also, to get the fit I was after, I had to line ream them to the finished bore diameter AFTER they were pressed in place to compensate for any out of line due to the tubing[see pic]. I also varied the thickness of the shoulder to fit nicely on the brackets without having to pound them into place. Lastly, I turned and polished the sleeves to fit the exact 1/2" bore in the bushings with .001" clearance for grease. It's not rocket science though, anybody with even a small lathe and a 1/2" reamer can accomplish this quite easily. Oh, one other bonus to this fix. Since there is no unwanted movement in the a arms now, I am running 1/16" toe in on my alignment and have no wandering or pulling. This seems to have dropped my cruzin' amps by about 5 on average.

Never turned delrin, and it's probably cheaper than 932 bronze. Let us know how you make out.
