I need a Controller for a Melex 512 E

HI, I may get in trouble for posting this here but I can not post a new thread on want adds fore sale. And I need this controller to get my friends cart up. THe batteries were hooked up backwards and it fried the diode on the solenoid and after putting the batteries in right the 250 watt resistor gets so hot it burned it's self off the wires. I didconnected the key switch wires and it still has power through it. I looked at a wiring diagram and got the inpression that there is a diode between b+ and B- but I get resistance both ways so I figure the controller is bad. Also the reverse warning horn is on even with the key switch completely disconnected. Im almost sure it is the controller. I need one and I also need the resistor and diode (thoes I can get locally. My controller is a Curtis but the modle and serial number are gone. It does say 36 volt and 275 amp. So i figure it is a 1204 hope Im right.
Does anyone have one for a reasonable (cheap) price?

that is a pretty common controller......if you don't find a used one here you may want to look on ebay. Good luck Larry

Thanks. I got that impression. Im pretty sure it is the 1204-001 If I can not get one cheap enough I might convert the cart to the old EZGO switch and resistor coils I can get one of them for $80
