Rearend indentification

Hi guys, I need help identifing this rearend. It is in a G22 but I believe it is not a G22 rearend. The brake cable is only attached to the left rear wheel and is a shielded cable. The brakes on the left are shot and need to be replaced. Id really like to get both brakes working but will settle for one if it is not possible. I can possibly swap the right side shoes to the left side but they may not be good as well. Looking for any thoughts or ideas. Thanks.

My Guess is a yamaha unit from a G2-14. It has the panhard rod like my G14 which the earlier units didn't use.

If you're just trying to fix the brakes, it may not matter. G2 through G22 take the same brake shoes. Cables should be standard G22 - it shouldn't matter where the axle came from, the cables need to fit the cart - for length and all.

Thanks for the info guys, Im going to see if I can add another brake cable for the right side and new brake shoes.

It looks like a G-14 transaxle that has been modified to work in the g-22. Not too surprising as G-16 and G-22 transaxles are difficult to find.

And welded to the cradle to boot!!! Hate when people do halfazz work.
Makes it tough for good people to come in behind them and work efficiently.

And don't get me started on the wheel spacers.....

Right!!! He paid a lot of money for this cart too and its well optioned and runs very good. The builder is a shop in town and im surprised they would send the cart out with only one side of the brakes hooked up. My plan is to attach another cable to the brake pedal assembly and weld on a bracket to hold the cable. Then I jave to find where the amp draw is that os pulling the battery down, probably the radio.

Depending on usage, I still would be leery using those wheel spacers.

Its a pavement pounder and is only used a handful of times per year. I dont think I can add another brake cable for the right rear as the pedal does not seem to have a provision for a second cable.

The pedal doesn't but the G-22 uses an equalizer that does.
