Default New ECO Battery, New worry!

No, there is nothing wrong with my EB. In fact, ABSOLUTELY nothing is wrong with it. So why the new worry?

Well, my bride and I frequently stop at local stores during our long rides. I always remove the key (which is not Club Car stock) and go shopping. Never worried about my less than immaculate cart being messed with.

But now I have a $2000.00 EB installed, that I can remove with a 1/2" nutdriver in 30 seconds flat. A professional thief can probably do it faster than that.

I thought about a hasp to lock the seat down, but I don't like that idea much.

I've got to look for some 5/16 NC nuts for the battery hold down bracket that need a special tool to remove if such is available. Amazon has some for around $50. for 25 pcs. I only need 2 . Any suggestions?

I just put a extreme team pack in my cart and sorta wondered same thing. I haven’t come up with a solution I love yet but started thinking about it . If you come up with any clever ideas let me know and I will do same.

Insure the cart for more than it is worth?

Hmmmmm....

What it's worth.....Shucks $2000.00 would get me a new battery, but if they stole the cart, I wouldn't need the new battery.

What a dilemma!

I found these:

https://www.amazon.com/ICI-2051618-N...3055756&sr=8-9

Kinda pricey but includes the key. I'm still looking for a less expensive option. There are cheaper options that are metric.... I hate metric! Especially when my down rods are 5/16-18.

I think I'm going to study locking the seat somehow. I really don't want curious people lifting the seat to see "what's under the hood".

There are some interesting seat locks by members of BGW years ago. I think I will come up with my own design.

You would think that you wouldn't have to worry about things being stolen there.

I tend to worry about things that may never happen.
