Question need help with 1999 ezgo series direction control

I have a 99 ezgo txt series non pds fleet cart.
it has a lift and 22 11 8 tires 36 volt
2 problems
1. On the selector reverse and forward are reversed. How do I fix that?
2. It seems to have low power or torque, cant go up much of an incline.
also seems slow.

batteries are 2 years old, all show 6.2 v and 2.1v between cells.
total volts 37.7
any ideas?
thanks

Joe....couple of things.
Issue #1 - that's easy. on the back side of the F&R Switch.....swap the leads that go to the S1 and S2 on the motor.....

Issue #2 - You have a series cart, it is NOT going to be very fast, no matter what in stock form. and the fact that you have put bigger tires on it is taxing your drive system. AND the batteries are not getting fully charged. a FULL charge would be 38.2v

Oh btw Joe, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

A new controller and solenoid will get some much needed torque back since you lost a bunch with the larger tires. ScottyB will guide you to the right upgrade and save you some cash also. Welcome to buggies.

Thanks for the info
when you say back of the f and r swirch, do you mean behind the f r lever or the switch under the black plastic cover?

Welcome to BGW

Yes the F/R switch under the black plastic cover, the F/R is in front of the controller

Some aftermarket controls are programmed for reduced speed in reverse .... put S1 and S2 back where they go and check to see if the F&R linkage bar (at nut A) is on upside down. See pic

You are a genius!
So simple but out of mind. Previous owner had it on upside down.
when I bought it he said it was like that after he put a pedal micro switch in.
I was hooping that wasnt the problem.

does this wiring look correct? I tried to wire per diagram, but It didnt work.
by the way ididnt see a reverse buzzer.
