Campground winter storage
My BIL has an electric TXT PDS at our campground. In preparation for winter I had him clean the pack, charge, and add water. The question of the Run/Tow switch came up. I told him to switch to Tow when he was ready to leave for the winter. He forgot to do it. Does he need to go back? Southern Wisconsin.

Re: Campground winter storage
If he has a charger that float charges, or one that automatically turns back on when the pack voltage drops to a specific voltage, it's okay. If his charger shuts completely and never restarts once the regular cycle completes, he's going to have dead batteries next spring whether the switch is in Run or Tow.
The controller draws about 50ma in Run. The batteries self-discharge at about a 2A rate. |
