Default 2010 YDRE G29 regen questions

So I recently bought and lifted a 2010 G29. Can someone point me to a link as to how it works? I've found questions about disabling etc but I'm trying to understand how much and to what extent it actually brakes? When braking I don't really feel that there is any engine braking. I just adjusted my brakes as they were going to the floor but I'm wondering when regen kicks in? I'm guessing it's working because if I start out and go very slow and let off the accelerator , the cart will slow to a stop on its own. I have a navitas controller ready to go in which you can adjust the regen braking so I'm sure I can understand it better when that goes in. I'd love to be able to use the regen to supplement the braking when I have 4 passengers going downhill as it looks like brake replacement is ridiculously expensive on these.

Well, it won't help you much without factory programmer. The stock controller regen is adjustable with 5 levels of strength. It kicks on by itself when you are coasting. They are set to mid level stock.

I'm curious to see what will happen with the new controller when. I turn it up. So the regen now activates any time you are moving not under throttle? Does it activate at all when actually applying the brakes?

The controller does not know when you press the brake pedal. Just when you are moving & throttle not applied.

Gotcha, thanks! It would be fantastic if it used regen completely to brake but probably not fast or efficient enough.

I guess you should have gotten an RXV, that's how they work. But your right, not gonna work in a sepex system.

The Alltrax XCT has a variable regen adjustment in the free program and a dial up application using the FN dongle accessory. You can dial as much regen as you like in to nearly stop without brakes on the fly.

So you can apply regen with or instead of the brakes. read more here >

While this is true, loads of Regen in a sepex sustem = lots of heat. And sepex is incapable of holding zero rpm. In my opinion, the amount of Regen needed to do the majority of braking at mid to lower speeds is quite annoying at higher speeds.
