Drive2 Charger Question
Finally got our first cart moving yesterday. Glitch free. Thank you all for the help you have provided so far. The battery meter on the cart does not currently work as it only shows one segment no matter how long the charger is plugged in. I do have a new one on its way. Last night the kids were using the heck out of the cart so I have no idea exactly how low the batteries got but I am sure they were down there. I plugged the charger in around 10pm or so and it kicked on in about 10 seconds like the manual says and was charging full power (19 amps?) This morning I woke up about 9am went and looked and it was still charging but down to about 10 amps. The charger is not bypassed and it is hooked correctly to the OBC....... My question is how long should the charger typically run and I have read about chargers not working due to the OBC is there a chance my OBC is bad and keeping the charger on too long? Input on this is much appreciated. THANKS!

Re: Drive2 Charger Question
I think 16 hours is the max time, if its not shutting off, could be an OBC issue

Re: Drive2 Charger Question
Check the voltage across the pack when on charge, the charger should turn off when batteries get to between 59 - 64 volts depending on the age of the batteries. 16 hours is the longest they should charge if the OBC is operating correctly. If the amperage is staying high check that the batteries are not over heating.

Re: Drive2 Charger Question
Yes, 16 is the max.
Did the charger ever kick off on its own? |

Re: Drive2 Charger Question
The most it has ran so far is about 13-14 then the kids wanna play with it. I will have the new battery meter installed tomorrow and I will pay more attention and see what happens. I know it is a common issue with the OBC going bad and the charger NOT working but is it a known issue as well with the OBC being bad and the charger staying on too long?

Re: Drive2 Charger Question
Typically when an OBC malfunctions, the charger won't come on at all.
But I guess it could malfunction and not turn it off... |
