Default Flip Flop seat for G9 pics

I have been trying to figure out how to convert my back seat into a flip flop seat. I think I finally got it going on. I had a good frame to start with so that really helped. The first pic is what I had to work with.
I cut the angle going across because it needed to be moved up and back, then started on the frame work. I am going to get some more metal tomorrow, if they can get it all cut for me, enjoy.

I am going to cover up my gas lid and make one in the bed so I can have a bigger bed. I cut out some of the angle around the gas lid for easier access.

Hopefully I will have more pics tomorrow!!

Well I got a little done today, but it was a challenge. I bought a new welder/plasma cutter this summer and never really use the plasma except to just try it out. After the third cut the pilot arc quick working. At least I had enough parts cut to get the sides of the bed put together. I used .100 for the sides and 1/2 solid round for the top rail. Maybe I can get the floor in it tomorrow.

This probably doesn't look like much progress but I did get the side rails/frame welded in the old frame. I also got the bed bottom cut to fit. Will try to figure out my fuel door, hinge and tailgate tomorrow.
Just about forgot about the UPS dropping off some new tires!!!

Before you install the box, take some aluminum-wheel cleaner to the rest of the aluminum, then it will all look as nice as the box.

Mac, are you using tig or mig to put that together? It looks sweet! Can't wait to see it done. I've been wanting to convert my back seat too. Mind if I copy??

I am using tig. I've had an older Miller for a long time and bought a Everlast welder that has a plasma also. So far I am happy with it. If you want some welding tips check out weldingtipsandtricks.com. THIS GUY KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT WELDING and has a lot of tips to help anybody. I have been welding for a long time and still like to watch his videos. It is worth a look!! He is like me and you, a working man that has learned a lot about welding and puts video on the net for the good of welders. I am a subscriber. That word doesn't look right (subscriber). good night **** that was hard
I have some new pics of today's progress, but we had a company xmas party tonight and i can't type too well so no pics today.
