Question 97 Club Car-New batteries-"jerks,clicks,&barely moves"

I was given a '97 club car (48volt). Former owner said he put a couple marine batteries in and ran the cart 6 mos ago...it just didnt have enough juice to go very far. I installed 6 batteries that were charged up & digital display shows "full charge." When I push the gas pedal (forward or reverse), the cart makes a clicking sound and jerks, but doesnt want to go...barely moves. Any ideas on isolating the problem???

Welcome to BGW

are these golf cart batteries?? how old?? did you check water levels? did they charge untill the charger turned off by it's self??, you need a volt meter to do some test, can you tell us what the volts are on the battery pack?? and volts of each battery?? lets start there.
