Default 2007 Robin Engine Won’t Start

Hey all. New to the forum. Thanks for having me. I use my ez go for weekend driving around the neighborhood with my family. 2 weeks ago, my cart was running like a champ. This past weekend the cart wouldn’t start. Starter belt spins and engine “chugs” but won’t turn over. I charged the battery and still doing the same thing. Any idea what the issue may be? I just had it serviced 6 months or so ago - new plugs, etc. thanks in advance

Just like any engine does it have a spark? Is it getting fuel?

I don't understand. If the "engine chugs" it must be turning over. Maybe it won't fire up, but it has to turn over to make any noise.
Any gas engine needs compression, fuel, and spark at the right time to run. You have to figure out which one isn't right to begin a diagnosis.

First of all, Welcome! There is a standard response around here to "it's not running" questions. As edge800 and bluegrallis have suggested: an engine needs compression, fuel and spark to run. If you don't have a spark tester you can pull one of the spark plugs, attach the plug wire, hold the base of the plug to grounded metal on the engine while you crank the starter. Look for a spark. For fuel you can open up the air filter box and spray a little carb cleaner or starter fluid into the carb intake, to see if it will fire for a moment. For compression you can listen for a difference in the air rushing when you just barely push the pedal vs pedal all the way to the floor, but really needs a compression tester to tell for sure where you really stand. If you could check those things and report back, we can make more suggestions from there.
